Concerns
Bleeding Later in Pregnancy
Some women experience light bleeding later on their pregnancy, which may not be from the womb but from the cervix, for example, which can cause bleeding after sex.
Low lying placenta
Where the placenta attaches to the womb, it usually stretches up and away from the cervix. A low lying placenta is where it stays low in the womb, either covering or close to the cervix. This may cause some bleeding during your pregnancy and baby’s delivery. It is always worth asking your Sonographer to check the position of the placenta during your scan to rule out this as being the cause of your bleeding.
